Located in the heart of Saint-Émilion on the former site of a 14th century Dominican monastery, the estate has land totalling nearly 11ha, consisting of clay and limestone soils. While named after lower ranked monks, don't let the modest etymology of this second wine fool you. It is unquestionably pleasant with a charming nose of fresh red fruits, vanilla, and tobacco. Dense, tender, and greasy on the palate, the flavours are carried along by soft, silky tannins.
